How Can We Save Water and Money?

I have been impressed by a movement by Vollara to help our planet save the aquifers and help our people save money--and even make money by doing their laundry.

Water issues are something we will start addressing in our blog.

Image via WikipediaOne February 11, Scott Harper a Career Epidemiology
Field Officer (CEFO) for the Centers for Disese Control (CDC)
posted "Battling Disease Outbreaks in the Big Apple." Mr. Harper is
stationed at the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene
and currently leads surveillance and response activities for influenza,
zoonotic, and vectorborne diseases. The posting discusses New York
City's most recent disease importation that came in the form of
pandemic H1N1 Influenza in 2009-10. It makes interesting reading and
gives you an idea what life as a CEFO is like. Hope you find it as
interesting as I did.

March is here Spring is around the corner.

I don't know how your winter has been, but for many of us in the Midwest it has had snow and very frigid temperatures. That all comes together to have us spend our time inside with no fresh air and breathing dust, dust mites(eck) and various fumes trapped in our homes. Now that we have opened up the house a couple of days we will have the pollens and spores floating around causing allergies--don't we all love that?
Those of you with central HVAC systems can prepare yourselves by having a clean/ check done and changing the filter. But for the rest of us and those things that don't run through your system--there is a solution.

Winter in Full Swing

Well it's here, winter is in full swing and we've experienced frigid temperatures already. Many have already had problems with the lack of fresh air in a closed up home. We must keep them closed up to keep warm right? Right. But you can experience "fresh air" even while heating is going on. If you have an HRV or ERV (heat recovery ventilator and energy recovery ventilator respectively) you can recover heat while bringing in outside air and exhausting your stale air. However if you don't have one of these extensive systems you can still purify and heat your home with a Safehearth heater.
See the product www.myvollara.com/rickvstein
Click on environment purity and it shows up right there.
Great option to heat and purify the air and not have to run the entire central heating system.
